We invite you to consider St. John School as the educational community for your child! St. John is a private Catholic school committed to helping our students, TK – 8th grade, thrive emotionally, intellectually, spiritually, and physically. We seek to provide affordable education for families considering a private school opportunity in San Francisco and the Bay Area. We recognize that you, our students’ parents, are the primary educators of your child. We are honored to assist you in your ministry of parenting and educating your child(ren).
Before you apply...
For Transitional Kindergarten, your child must turn four (4) years old by September 1st of the school year of entry. Children with birthdays after September 1st may apply for a January start of that school year.
For Kindergarten, your child must turn five (5) years old by September 1st of the school year of entry.
Any transfer applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

ADMISSIONS PROCESS
Step 1: Tour
The first step in our application process is to take a tour of our campus located in Glen Park. Our tours are designed to allow you to visit St. John and ask any questions.

Step 2: Application & Required Documents
If you are interested in St. John School and would like to proceed:
- Please complete and submit the online application and pay the application fee: Click Here and follow the links to the online application. Payment can be made via cash, check or Venmo @ StJohns-Eagles and in the memo section include the name of your child and the reason (application fee).
Please email the following documents to [email protected]:
- Birth Certificate
- Immunization Record
- Recent Family Photo
- Baptismal (if applicable)
- Report Cards
- Student IEP (if applicable)
Important Notice:
You must complete all the required documents before our admission team can proceed.
Step 3: Assessment or Shadow Day
After our admission team has received all the documents, you will receive an invitation to the assessment or shadow day. For TK and Kinder applicants an assessment day will be held where the parents are requested to stay on campus or in the neighborhood while the child is assessed individually and collectively. For applicants applying for 1st through 8th grade, the child will take part in a shadow day where he/she will spend either a half day or full day on our campus in their current grade level.
Decision Email
Interested families will be notified by email of St. John’s admission decision following the completion of the submission of the documents and the assessment/shadow day. All decision emails will be sent on a rolling basis as steps 1-3 are completed.
Waitlist applicants will be notified when an opening in the classroom becomes available.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES & POLICIES
Extended Care & After School Activities
St. John School’s Extended Care is a nurturing environment where children are safely supervised while completing homework. We provide nutritious snacks and age-appropriate games and activities. Our extended care is billed on a monthly or drop-in rate. Additional after-school clubs and programs are available for a nominal fee.
