UPDATE: Our student Read-A-Thon ended on March 5, with over 95% participation from students, 38, 918 minutes read, and over $15,000 earned toward our St. John School Library Renovation! Go Eagles! We are so proud of you!
St. John School’s 2021 Read-A-Thon is here! Students are invited to create a profile on the Read-A-Thon website, read every day, and log each minute they read. Students will receive prizes along the way and have opportunities to choose their own prizes from the website. The very best prizes, however, will be the time spent reading and the money raised to support our library renovation.
As a fundraiser, students are encouraged to ask family and friends to support their marathon reading by donating (through each student’s personal Read-A-Thon website) to our library renovation. Ask the St. John students you know for their information. You may also donate directly to the school’s library renovation using the PayPal button on the right.
St. John’s library renovation project will clear old or excess books from our large school collection, and then add new and diverse titles that fully reflect our amazing student body and our diverse community. We are committing a portion of several fundraisers this year to our library renovation.
Literacy remains one of the most powerful elements of a student’s lifelong education. St. John’s commitment to student literacy has elevated our graduates to gain access to education at San Francisco’s most competitive high schools and some of our country’s top universities. We are excited to see how our library renovation will serve our current and future students!
