Step this way to join the St. John School community by donating new, used and gently worn shoes. St John will will receive shoe donations from 8/24 – 10/15/20. All donated shoes will be redistributed to microenterprise partners through Funds2Orgs, a for-profit social enterprise, and used in developing nations for impoverished people to start their own businesses.
St. John School will earn a monetary donation, in turn, based on the total weight of the shoes students collect. All funds raised through the Step This Way! Shoe Drive Fundraiser will be used to support elementary and middle school student education this academic year at St. John School, including providing services for Distance Learning support.
Shoe Drop Off Location
Shoes may be dropped off in bags at St. John School’s front entrance. Donations will be received until October 15, 2020.
Community Drop Off – 9/26/20
St. John is accepting shoes every day through October 15. However, we are highlighting a Community Drop Off event on Saturday, September 26 from 10am – 2pm. Please bring shoes to St. John School’s front entrance: 925 Chenery St., San Francisco, in the Glen Park Disctrict. Thank you for supporting St. John, and for helping unneeded, used and gently worn shoes find a second home.
Why Does St. John Care About Shoes?
In the US alone, over 600 million pairs of shoes are thrown away per year. The materials used to manufacture a pair of shoes are created from chemical compounds that will create health hazards if left to disintegrate openly or in landfills. By donating your gently worn, used and new shoes to St. John School your shoes are given a second chance to make a difference.
This fundraiser is currently underway and will continue until 10/15/2020.
