Sister Shirley Garibaldi served as St. John School’s Principal for the better part of a decade before retiring last spring. Many students and families remember being truly welcomed by Sister, and found a home in the school she led. While current conditions prevent us from thanking her in person, the St. John community will still gather to appreciate her service and celebrate our warm community life. Join us for A Toast to Sister Shirley, a virtual Wine Tasting Celebration honoring Sister Shirley and giving thanks for her amazing years of service to St. John Catholic School.
Wine Tasting – Saturday, November 14, 2020
St. John is partnering with Voluptuary Winery to create a celebratory virtual Wine Tasting Event. Join us Saturday, November 14, 2020, from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM. This Virtual event will include hosted wine tasting, opportunities to socialize and reminisce, and an honorary celebration for Sister Shirley. Funds raised during this event will help meet the current needs created by educating students during the Covid crises. We look forward to this occasion to offer thanks, connect with one another, and strengthen the St. John community! We also gratefully announce a special guest appearance by Sister Lil!
A Toast to Sister Shirley Tickets
Tickets to our wine tasting event honoring Sister Shirley, and supporting excellence in education at St. John School, may be purchased by visiting ToastToSisterShirley.eventbrite.com. When purchasing a ticket you will have the opportunity to choose between several Wine Tasting Kits, and to donate directly to the event and the school. Please purchase your tickets by October 31st to allow sufficient time for shipping prior to the event!

Wine Tasting Kit
Your Wine Tasting Kit will be delivered directly to your address. When ordering, please make sure that you enter your correct mailing address in your order. Please use physical address only – no shipping to PO Box. You must be 21 & over to purchase and to sign for delivery. Wine Kits can not be shipped to Utah.
Tickets for the Wine Tasting Kits will be sold through 10/31/2020 in order for wine boxes to ship and arrive in time for the event.

Non Wine Tasting Attendees
We understand that some who wish to honor Sister Shirley and support St. John School may not wish to participate in the wine tasting. We invite you to attend and celebrate without purchasing Wine Tasting Kits. Tickets for participation without purchasing a Wine Kit are also available using the Eventbrite link. No purchase is necessary, however we have a suggested donation of $30 toward the event and to support St. John School.

Zoom ID/Password
All ticket purchasers will receive the Zoom id and password via email 72 hours prior to the event. Please check the email that you used to purchase the tickets during that period. We look forward to seeing you!

Donations to St. John School
Due to the COVID pandemic, we are unable to enjoy our annual in-person community and fundraising events. This Virtual Toast to Sister Shirley will replace our annual Fall Dinner and is St. John’s opportunity to practice giving thanks during extraordinary times.
The school continues to experience additional expenses due to COVID. Additional costs for PPE, setting up and adhering to a mitigation plan, and distance learning have created a budget deficit and continued effort toward significant fundraising is a necessity. We are grateful that we can come together to celebrate Sr. Shirley’s service to our school, our community life, and our continued commitment to St. John’s success.
